    avid mechanicals

    Have there been any improvements, or significant changes to avid mechanical disc brakes since 2001? (other than the additional rotor sizes available)

    Nope. Haven't changed since the v2 (non-magnet) calipers were introduced.

    Nope, nothing new on the Avid front. There's not a whole lot you could change, anyway, they designed them so well that there's not a whole lot of room for improvement. Damn you, Avid.

    Still using V1 calipers with new rotors, still no problems.......and mine were early production models, too.
