Avid Mech 185mm Disk, too much power...

I have the 185mm Avid mechanical disk break on the front and it is way to powerfull. Even with a small touch to the brake leavers it brakes with a lot of power. Too easy to lock up the front tire... I've already went over the handle bars once because I accidently hit the front break while trying to jump a curb. So, what can I do go decrease the power? (Can't believe I'm asking that question, these brakes rock!)

Turn the pad adjusting knobs out a click or two. Start with the outer pad.

decrease your leverage ajustment at the lever...if you have high end shimano or avid levers this is possible.
I know in my heart that Ellsworth bikes are more durable by as much as double. AND they are all lighter...Tony Ellsworth
