    Avid Lever removal

    Hi,

I own some Juicy Ultimates. Without going into details i need to remove the levers - they will be removed for a couple of days. Will doing this let air into the system ?

Finally can someone tell me how i undo the lever please ? All i want out is the lever itself nothing else.

u can remove the lever without letting any air in

unscrew the lever pivot screw...push the lever pivot pin through (u may need to screw the reach adjustment screw in a little to get the pin out)....screw the lever reach adjust all the way in (lever will move away from the bar).....

    Hi

So do i have to screw the lever reach screw all the way in so the lever is as far from the bar as possible ? OR just undo the other screw and push the pin out to remove it ?

u need to screw in the reach adjustment (moves lever out) to just get the lever off without the pushrod and pushrod dust boot like in the pics

possibly, I would just thread the push rod out of the barrel and remove the lever blade and leave the push rod in the main lever body

Removing the pushrod will not let air in... but you'll be fine leaving the pushrod in place.

    It's really not that difficult.
