Alright I am at work trying to understand some issues with brake setup. I have Avid Juicy carbons and I am wondering why I get this chirping noise after they are warmed up. It is not really a bad squack like my SS bike is doing but it is definitely a chirping noise. My buddy running XTR does not get that. do I need to consider running 5.1 DOT fluid, or would that be a bad idea? Any ideas would help.
Is the chirping noise there all the time? If so it sounds like you need to align the caliper to the rotor. I doesn't sound like anything to do with what fluid you are running.
I noticed the noise is there after the brakes heat up a bit, and stays till the end of the ride. I am in the Dallas area so its not like I am doing bomber downhills on them. I will say though that brake power does not change at all.
