    Avid Juicy 7 ultimate pads

I would like to change my pads on my avids is it best to use the manufacturers or are better after market ones. I would be more interrested in performance than life.

It depends on riding conditions. Wet? Dry? XC? Downhill? Etc.

but then the guy in the shop told me to stay avid and that the organics were quieter and more constant. but i dont know if he is right or not.

also they are 06 or 07 juicy 7s. are those dot 4 or dot 5.1?

They probably shipped with DOT 4. They will work just fine with DOT 5.1.

EBC pads are very good. There is no one pad compound that is perfect for everything.

Here in the wet UK i've trashed a set of organics in less than 1 ride.Always sintered for me now.I never buy Avid, they squeal like a banshee,i tend to just buy from Superstar components and so far they're lasting as well as any and i get 4 pairs(25) for a little over the price of 1 pair of Avid(19.99).
Avoid Fibrax as they tend to be a very tight fit on Avid systems.
According to my Ultimate reservoir covers they're Dot 5.1,but as stated Dot 4 is pretty much the same.
