Avid, if you're listening, I've got an idea...

Introduce a cable operated lever (or redesign your current levers) that has the same clamp as the Elixirs so they are compatible with matchmakers! How cool would this be? I realize the FR-5 and SD-7 are made with a very plain and simple design, but it's time for an upgrade! Having the Elixir clamps would be awesome. I'd buy a set just so I could use the matchmakers that are incompatible with my FR-5 lever and X9 shifter. Just a thought, feel free to chime in, guys.

If I thought it would benefit you in any way, I'd give you +rep for this idea. But I don't think you'd notice with that line of green chiclets up there. I'm absolutely certain the only reason I didn't think of this is that I only have cable pull brakes on my SS. But the merit, is there. Because I'd upgrade a couple of bikes around here (my kids) to BB7s pretty quick when they use up the stock (junk) brakes that are on them, and being able to use MM compatible stuff would be nice as they wear out/upgrade more stuff.

That will happen about the time mountain bike brake cables go out of production.
