    Avid front brake adapter question

I want to upgrade to a 185 rotor up front. I see that the adapter for my rear brake says 140 rear/160 front, so if I had an extra 160 rear brake adapter, logic tells me it would be 160 rear/185 front, right? I can't find anything about this online. Also, its the standard 51mm mount on the front, not 74mm post mount. I tried searching forums, you get a lot of results when you search "160 rear 185 front adapter", so I was hoping somebody knew the answer off the top of their heads. If nobody knows, I guess I can just install it and see if the pads are hitting the rotor corectly.

    Thanks, Alex

You match the adaptor to the rotor size you want to run therefore, you'll need a 185 adaptor to run a 185 rotor.

I think he was looking for an answer about whether or not a adapter marked "160 rear" will work in place of one marked "185 front", consdering that some adapters are marked "140r/160f"

Your logic sounds correct, IDK if it will actually work or not, maybe you should just try it out.
