Avid Elixir Levers - Ok to Swap Sides which will invert the levers?

I've tried, but I just have too many years on motorcycles. I want my front brake on the right grip. Is it ok just to trade sides with the levers? I know flipping the bike can create air bubble problems, but will inverting just the levers cause a problem?

Seems like I recall a procedure in the instructions to change sides on the levers but it's been a while so I can't say for sure. Might be worth you looking on the Avid website for the install instructions and see what they say.

Especially if you have the newer style levers, it might be better not to flip them over so you can still access the bleed port on the master cylinder. It shouldn't be too hard to swap hydro lines from one brake to the other. If you are very careful, you can sometimes manage to do this without having to bleed the system. Even if you do have to bleed them, I think it would be a better long-term solution than flipping the levers over. It will surely look better as well.

    Not a Problem

I flipped mine and know others who have. No problems. If you need to bleed them you can turn em over or just rotate them on the bar temporarily.

Agree they'd look slightly better rehosed though.

THis is what the Avid instructions say at http://www.sram.com/sites/default/fi...-_elixir_1.pdf

elixir 3: Arrows on the clamp must point up. Tighten the top bolt completely to
2.8-3.4 Nm (25-30 in-lb) so there is no gap. Then tighten the bottom bolt to the
    same torque.
    3a rigHt-HanD Front (optional)
To run your brake levers moto-style (right-hand front), just swap the
levers, flip the clamps over so the arrows face up (elixir 3), then mount
    as in step 3.
I may or may not be laughing at you.
