Avid Elixir CR 2009 blade replacement

I broke my Carbon blade (lever) and replacing w/ more reliable alum blade (lever). Where can i find a manual in regards for blade replacement? Or can someone kind of enough to write an instruction on "how to" replace the blade?

thanks in advance if I don't reply!!!!

I have a feeling I'm not getting a response cause maybe some people don't know what blade is? well blades = levers

You can download the technical manual for practically all of Avid's disc brakes here (for some reason the BB5s are not there).

    http://www.sram.com/_media/pdf/avid/.../TM_MY09_E.pdf

It gives full instructions on complete overhauls of the entire brake system. Pretty useful stuff.

How did you end up braking your blade?

You mean when i buy the alum, i won't get the plunger kit? I'm getting alum avid blade and I'm hoping that it'll come with it. Otherwise, I'll just have the lbs just install it.

i dont think they come with them but not 100% sure, and the plunger and leavers are very easy to install your self, it only takes a few min. per side....i will give some basic instructions the best i can explain them....

there is a little phillips head screw in reach adjustment, take it out and inside the leaver is a allen head bolt that goes threw the reach adjustment, take it out too,the reach adjustment is spring loaded, take a little flat head screwdriver and pop out the reach adjustment, and push out the pin that goes threw the blade and the leaver will come off with the plunger, unsnap the plunger from the leaver, it is shaped like a dumbbell, ball, shaft, ball O------o .... and put back in reverse order... not too hard,,

not the best directions but it may help some.....
