Avid Elixir brakes have to be pulled to bar..HELP!

I recently put a pair of avid elixir brakes on my bike and the rear brake lever has to be pulled all the way to bar to stop. I would like to know how to adjust the brakes so I don't have to pull the lever to bar? Please help.

Im having a similiar issue but its in the lever itself I still have full braking power but they touch the bars idk why its just the rear that does it.
