Avid Elixir Bleeding...Should i hear this??!!

I went to do a bleed on my Elixir R's brakes the other day, and when i go to bleed at the lever and suck the air out with the bleed kit syringe i head a sucking noise that sounds its coming from right behind the lever. I thought this was odd and maybe an issue with my rear brake(crashed and dropped the bike on that side once), and the same exact noise came from the front brake. Any ideas?

I did get air out of the caliper/line/and master cylinder, and all seems to be well now. But now that i think about it, i do get a bit of brake fade on longer DH runs, and the brakes only have 4 weekends of riding on them, as I have to drive quite a few hours to ride dh.
