    avid elixir 7 160mm to 203mm

I am building a bike, the rotors I have are avid clean sweep 160mm in rear and 203mm in front. I just purchased the 203mm adapter for post mount on my 2008 fox rlc 120mm. do I. needed longer bolts to install my rotor with the adapter??? I've seen cps hardware kits online but not any that 203mm specific. any help will be appreciated, thanks guys.

If you already have bolts with CPS washers then you don't have to buy another CPS hardware kit.

The bolts currently attaching the caliper to the post mounts should be ok to reuse and attach the caliper to the adapter.

For new bolts go to your LBS or do some measurements, go to a hardware store/bolt shop and buy some M6 bolts with the same thread pitch.

Caliper to adapter bolt length = adapter thickness + caliper thickness + the thickness of 2 CPS washer stacks if you need them

*Not all of Avid brakes use CPS washers now, if you use CPS washers on one of Avid's non CPS/standard calipers they will pack it out too much and the pads will overhang the outer edge of the rotor.

Adapter to post mount bolt length = the adapter thickness + the depth that the threads go into the post mounts minus a few mm's

my elixir 7 are brand new and have all the new cps washers included.. I just feel like with the adapter thickness that the bolts included wont be long enough. Thanks for your help. I should be getting adapter soon and will let you know.

    thanks cobba
