    Avid disk Brake Compatiblity?

    Hi all,
I am about to buy my first mountain bike. I'm either going to get the Specialized hardrock sport ( or the trek 4300 ( I want to get avid CPS disk brakes as an upgrade, but I'm not sure if they are compatible with these bikes as they are stock. Would I need to get new hubs/rims, or something? I'm new and stupid, help me out here please. Thanks for the info,

The Specialized will need a disc wheelset. It has disc mounts.

The Trek website states that the 4300 has a disc option available. That would be the most cost effective way to get disc brakes.
Never be afraid to try something new.
