avid recommends when the pads & metal backing pad are 3mm thick.

    what type of pads

I am getting pretty close to 3mm on my Avid Mech discs, and pretty close to my winter overhaul. What do you reccommend as far as new pads? aztecs?kool stops? avids?

    thanks for the help

I've used both Avid and Kool Stop and like them both. The avid grab a little better but wear faster than the kool stop. I prefer the kool stop cause they stop me just fine, they wear slower, and are cheaper than the avid, like $15 a pair. The fit right in the caliper as well.
