    Avid Disc Brake Pads Users....

Let's settle down finally which are the best brake pads for Avid disc brakes. I know there might be different opinions but we all look for durability and stopping power.

Include your comments on any brand and any compound you've used.

I've only used the standard B3's and found them to be of inconsistant quality but if you find a good pair they will wear decently long and and will not squeal unless wet.

Let's settle down the dust and share our opinions.

I have the Juicy with original and EBC wow Green...

I started out with the original Juicy metalic pads. After a few rides they started squealing like mad so I installed the spare Avid metalic pads that I had in my tool box. Well, same thing. So I got tired and ordered some EBC Red organic pads. All I can say is WOW. No more squealing and I'm tempted to say both power and modulation is better. Can't talk about durability on any though.

    Here's what I've used...

Avid B3s - worked OK, but squealed a LOT, wore quickly.

Avid C4s - better on all accounts, still going.

Koolstop - needed some Dremel work to fit, worked fine for about 3 months of riding, now starting to squeal once they warm up.
    Cheers,
