Avid crash replacement brake lever blades??? aka "Bend Zone"

So my Avid SD Ti brake levers were designed with a "bend zone" so the lever bends if impacted in a crash thus saving the rest of the brake. Well one of them bent.
Have any of you bent your Avid levers and got them replaced thru Avid's crash replacement program? There's a small blurb in the owners manual about it, but I can't seem to find any info on their web site about how to get a new lever.

Just call their customer/tech service dept.

(303)762-9353. They've been helpful every time I've needed them.

Look where you want to go. This is as true in life as it is in mtbiking.

    according to the Avid website:

    Bend Zone™
Each brake lever handle is designed with a Bend Zone. This feature is designed to have the handle absorb and bend in a crash instead of transferring the shock to the body (which is more expensive and difficult to replace). A bent handle can be carefully bent back into position in order to complete a ride (better than having to walk home because you don't have a brake lever). All bent handles should be replaced immediately.

    on the crash replacement:

Crashes sometimes happen. They are not fun and they can result in expensive bike repairs. To help out, Avid's crash replacement program, will repair or replace damaged Avid products at a reduced cost. Contact Avid for details.

Include with the damaged product, a note explaining how the item was damaged, a return address and return shipping information.
