    Avid bleed question(bleed block)

Is there any reason why I cant just put a thick washer between the pads to keep the pistons in, instead of taking the pads out and putting in a block(I don't have a block)?

Your call. I always remove the pads to prevent accidentally getting brake fluid on them.

If you do remove the pads, be careful not to force anything metal between the pistons. I've chipped the piston w/ a screwdriver. Now I only use plastic tire levers in there for leverage.

Thanks. I put a set of old pads in, so getting fluid on them isn't an issue.
