    Avid BB7 vs... BB7

Okay, I have two bikes equiped with BB7, and I'm selling one of them.

On the bike I have to sell it has the black BB7 which are, I think 2008 or 2009, and have like a window opening on the top where I can look at the pads, and on the other bike I have the gray colored ones which lack the window, I'm guessing this should be 2006 or 2007 model, I'm not sure.

On the bike I'm going to sell it has the newer calipers, but I don't know if it's worth it to keep the newer BB7 or if both are really the same.

    Any ideas?

I'd just keep the newer ones because they're newer...not because of a slight difference.

Does the "window" allow for easier adjusting?

    I'd keep the newer ones....

because they're newer as biknfool noted, and because of the torx head fitting in the inboard adjuster knob. Makes it a whole lot easier to turn a stuborn inboard adjuster. The older bb7s didn't have that feature. Your choice though, either set of calipers obviously will work well.

Yep, that torx fitting would be a slight difference worth keeping...forgot about that one!

LWright--I haven't found that window to be of any use at all, at first thought it might be helpful for pad wear but I can't see the pads that well thru it.
