    Avid BB5s

Sorry to bother ya'll with yet another bb5 thread, however I bought a used Specialized Rock Hopper and the front brake squeals while riding. I will compress the pads and the squealing stops for about 30 seconds to a minutes but usually starts again. Is this a simple fix of cleaning the rotor and pads, or are the pads spent? Thanks for any info you can lend to my need. Thanks.

Start first with a simple inspection. You want to see if the rotor might be warped. If it is that's your problem.
If not and the rotor looks straight and true then maybe a new setup and adjustment might solve your problem.
After that you may have pads that are contaminated with something. Replacing the pads might be your only option.
