I've been through two Avid bleed kits, and after a few months the seals on the syringes/hoses eventually fail. I'm fed up with the whole system and am looking for an alternate solution. I've seen the DIY kits people have made, but they are essentially the same setup, and will probably fail the same way.
Has anyone used an automotive system (such as the Mityvac Mityvac MV8000 Automotive Test and Bleeding Kit : Amazon.com : Automotive) to bleed their avid brakes? I have the brass fittings to thread into the brakes...would something like this work (assuming i keep the vacuum pressures low)?
Any alternatives that don't involve syringes would be ideal.
