    alternative for shimano brake fluid

Does anyone know if there is an alternative to buying the shimano brake fluid? Is it just mineral oil or is it a mineral oil plus something. Not that it is expensive but I dont have a bike shop near me that carries it. So after shipping you get the picture.

Any shop should be able to order you some. Synthetic fork oil would probably be your best bet for an alternative. Definitely don't use generic mineral oil from the drug store. It's way too thick.
