    2013 shimano slx brakes

I'm ready for a brake upgrade on my 2011 Intense SS2. Currently I am running older model (circa 2007) Juicy brakes with 203 rotors. My bike weight is 37 lbs. I weigh 150 lbs and use my bike for bike park and shuttle runs.

I will confess that I drag my brakes more than I should. I have a couple of questions:

What is the modulation like on the 2013 Shimano Slx brakes? In the past, the Shimano brakes I've demoed seem to be all power and no modulation.

Is any one out there a Shimano brake convert from Avid Brakes? How was your experience adjusting to the brake system?

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

I have SLX brakes on my Superfly... Love them. They are very easy to modulate. Lever feel is very progressive, just like a car brake pedal. I have no problem modulating them while navigating technical descents. Definite night and day difference between some of the Avid setups I've tried riding on friends bikes.
