    2-piece rotor with BB7?

I think I read on a thread that 2 piece rotors are stiffer so less squealing with BB7's ? So, which rotors would work? I think I read that the Shimano rotors do not fit inside the BB7 caliper without some modifications or something? Not sure if any of the info was in the same thread.. I see that Avid makes 2-piece rotors but they're pretty pricey but are they worth it?

    Thanks!

You wouldn't want a rotor that's too stiff, with mechanical disc brakes you only have one pad that moves.

The outer pad pushes the rotor against the inner pad, when it does this the rotor flexes.

Proper brake setup stops most BB7 noise. G2 rotors (Cleansweep or roundagon), EBC Gold pads, good caliper alignment and pad adjustment. No noise 98% of the time for the last 13 years.

The Avid 2-piece rotor braking track is too narrow.

    I'll try the EBC Gold.

How long is the 'life' of a rotor? I'm thinking my rear 160mm is off of my first bike so that would make it 4 years old. Probably time to replace them...

If you can feel a "step" on the rotor it is time to replace it.
