    160 to 180 shimano

I'm moving from 160mm to 180mm, and am looking for the appropriate adapters. Jenson USA has 51mm/51mm and 51mm/74mm adapters. I assume the 51/74 is standard becuase it is cheaper. Is this what I/most would need?

    Thanks!

First you need to know what kind of standard mount your fork and caliper are. IS is 51mm and Post mount is 74mm so a 51mm/51mm is for a IS frame or fork and IS caliper, 51mm/74mm is for IS frame or Fork and Post mount caliper. There is also 74mm/74mm wich is post mount for both the caliper and frame or fork. For example I have a Fox fork with post mount 74mm for the brake and my XT brake are IS mounts 51mm so I use a Shimano SM-MA-F180S/P adapter to mount my brakes to my fork. If I had a 51/51 combo it would be SM-MA-F180S/S. hope this help.
If I disagree with you, it's because you are wrong.
