New question here. Speedfox rear disc size

Just put together a new SF and had to put a large 185 disc because the
direct mount calipers require that as the min, and the disc is too large.
The ridges on the outside of the disc hit as you turn the rear wheel. I even
ground the edges down to 184mm and they still hit. I had to go searching
for a 180mm disc. Some sites (not the official BMC site though) said it re-
quired a 185/180 disc. 185 seems to be the norm nowadays so I was
wondering if anyone else had this problem? I have XT brakes.

Hi. I have a 2010 Speedfox, too. Your frame should have come with 2 silver spacers to raise the rear caliper to allow for a 185mm rotor. If you don't have the spacers then a 180 rotor should fit. At the moment I have Avid BB7's using a180mm rotor without using the silver spacers, but I've also used 185's with the silver spacer. I hope this helps.

Hey thanks guys that explains it. I didn't get a couple of things that
I had to ask for, this one not immediately evident.
