My new BMC. Love the Geometry for my type of riding. Feels perfect. X-Fushion fork, was recommended to me after dealing with warranty issues with one of the bigger companies....Love it. Plush. Dialed right in. Mavic Crossmax ST's, Race Face Deus Cockpit, XT Dyna-sys Drive Train from front to back, Avid BB7's (That's right, Mechanical's Baby!!) Crank Bros Candy 3's, Maxxis Ignitor up front, Maxxis Crossmark on Back. She rolls!! Just over 23lbs. I LOVE THIS BIKE:thumbsup:

anybody know where the frame number on a BMC bike would be to register online for warranty? Looked at the bottom of my TE01 29er and there is one on the bottom bracket, one one the downtube next to the bottom bracket and a shorter one on the chainstays...

Well, not exactly. We do have hills,I just don't do very much climbing so I rid myself of some dead weight. The cassette is a Shimano Ultegra 11t/21t which is more than sufficient for any climbing I will run into.My LBS actually suggested the change when they noticed that I was only wearing out the first 4-5 gears on the mountain cassette I had on my bike before this one.Basically the same reason I went 1x in front,I NEVER used the granny ring and very rarely used the big ring.I am thinking about going with a 34t ring in front though, just to get a little bit more power than I do with the 32t ring.

Thanks!Though my wife would be more inclined to describe it as"a waste of money".Best bike I have ever owned, though admittedly I have only had six of them.Actually,it's a tie between this bike and the one it replaced,my custom 2001 Schwinn Homegrown which was stolen this summer.I would never have replaced the Homegrown had it not been stolen.

I am thinking of going to 1 x 10 on my te01 29. How did you like the setup when you had the chain guide? I want to use the rotor 34 tooth ring and will probably want the chain guide for security. I have the type II derailleur so I think with that and the chain guide I should be ok.

I really like the 1x10 setup. I only ran the MRP ring and guide for a handful of rides but I had zero problems with it. Took the new setup(wolf tooth chainring, x9 non clutch derailleur) out yesterday and put a rough 20 miles on it with zero dropped chains.

It has great quality overall and we can see instantly that it is swiss, the attention to the details like small stickers that it have in top link to easily set up the SAG. The paintjob is very well made too and it has 3 years of warranty itself, as it has 5 years for the frame i think.

I'm loving it. It is a very fast bike, very confortable, because even with the scor shock (i don't know the brand and i didn't even found something about that), it doesn't pump with every pedal stroke but when we need it, some hole or get up and start some descent, the bike instantly changes it personality and becomes a very fun bike to ride. It is very easy to stick with some lines with it, the fork works amazingly, even the deore brakes are great (but i want the xt ones because of the power). I've never tried onza tires before but they are amazing, Great traction and cornering, and they roll very well on the road (i'm only afraid of the skinwall thickness).
I read somewhere in this forum that the suspension system it's not a big deal in this bike but i couldn't disagree more. This is similar to the turner, and it all depends of the tunning itself. I have a buddy with the fs02, carbon one with all fox suspensions and the shock it's smoother but i like the raw feeling of this bike, it's pure joy riding it.

About the build, let's don't forget it is the lowest fourstroke model so the parts won't be spot on. It came with all slx drivetrain, but i changed the crankset and rear derrailleur for a xt ones as i have those in my home. Now i bought some xt i-spec shifters, thomson seatpost, esi grips and i will convert the wheels to ust using gorilla tape, notubes valves and continental revo sealent (parts didn't arrived yet). After that i might change the stem/bar for thomson and the new carbon trail and the brakes to xt.
The only thing i could say i don't like in it are the wheels. The slx hubs are rubbish, they sound like they have rocks instead of bearings (with only 150km and no agressive cleaning), so i'm thinking about some hope pro2/dtswiss competition/stans arch ex wheels in the future.

If you want to buy some, do it ;). I've started in DH and 5 years ago started riding xc/trail. I'm very picky about bikes and every wrong detail annoys me. I think that this is one of the best buys i've made so far.

This is what is left from my 2013 Fourstroke FS02 XT. Basically only frame, groupset, tires and hubs. Everything else is replaced:

Manitou Tower Pro fork - it is heavier than the stock Fox, but it has much better spring and much more tuneable damper. Plus I can maintain and tune it myself with common tools.

Rockshox Monarch RT3 Debonair - also heavier than stock Fox, but it has much better damper + I can tune and maintain it myself.

Both fork and shock have been retuned to have very plush feeling, almost no platform.

Wheels have been rebuilt with WTB KOM i23 rims and Sapim D-Light spokes. I kept the DT Swiss rims, wheels are much lighter.

Rockshox Reverb seatpost - just installed it, I hope it will be useful.

Longer and higher stem to get better sitting position. L-size frame is little bit too small for me.

    Right now it weights 12,3kg.

    Hi all,
I'm a soon to be new owner of a 2017 TE02 xt, wanted to get some opinions on it's weight, when I was at the lbs they had me try a te01 xt, man that thing is light and super nice to ride, but out of my budget.
So between the 2 xt builds of te01 and te02(thinking the frame weight would be the difference, no?), what you guys think, mine should be arriving next week, cant wait to get out and ride, thanks in advanced.

So between the 2 xt builds of te01 and te02(thinking the frame weight would be the difference, no?), what you guys think, mine should be arriving next week, cant wait to get out and ride, thanks in advanced.

They have different frames (01 has segmented seat tube/seat stay connection for "micro travel") and quite a few different components. BMC has a nice compare feature on their website. Check that out. Looks like they do not publish weights

    Have fun!

Replaced my broken Fourstroke with a Speedfox. I like it better for plunking around the trails.
