    BMC Trailfox sizing

    Hi all,

I currently own a (large) 575 built light with Mavrk Forks, XT etc. Have been getting into
more XC and endurance racing so need a more suitable bike that will be faster.

Looking at a BMC Trailfox 02. Did a test on 19" and it felt quite different to 575.

Upside: Better acceleration, quicker turning, slightly lighter than 575.

Downside: A bit less stable due to geometry, short top tube and long ch stays meant
    a very fwd feeling position.

I am just under 6 ft with about 33" inseam - should I go the 21" and use a layback
    seatpost and short stem??

    Any trailfox owners with advice?

    Thanks,

    TCD

I am in the same position as you. I called up the place Im going to purchase from and they were VERY helpful in sizing.

I suggest you try calling them. Im ordering mine from adrenaline.

I have it more sorted now. LBS is getting in a 21" so I will have both there to compare.

I can try the 19" with seat approx 1" further back and see how that feels.

Looks like the TF will be a good choice for XC and endurance ref link.

It depends on your inseam length versus upper body.

I will be checking out both 19" vs 21" next week. At 5'11" you might be better
    off with 19".

One thing I noticed is TF wheelbase is long compared to other bikes.

    cheers

    I'm 5'10" with a 32" inseam and I'm riding a 17".

Great bike. Light, fast and a great pedaler. 2000+ miles since March.

5'9, 31" inseam on a NEW (yee hah) 17" and it fits great. You can do a lot with seat post/stem/bar combos.

I'm 5'7, not sure about my inseam. I ride a C'dale rush now, and the top tube length is 60cm. The standover height is 29.6", does anyone know what size that approxamates to?
