I can either get a Giant Anthem X (Fox RP23) frameset or a BMC Fourstroke (#3) frameset.
Both bikes are 4" rear travel, and use Fox's RP23.
Unfortunately there is no concievalbe way for me to test ride the BMC.
1. I can get the BMC for $900 dollars on discount (2008 model)
2. Get an Giant Anthem X 2009 for $1400.
So, Has anyone had any experience with either of these bikes? Both have similar geometry with the BMC having a slightly shorter TT.
With so much praise being given over the Giant's Maestro suspension, I do not want to shoot myself in the foot with the BMC and find out that there is a lot of pedal bob.
My main use will be XC/trail riding, with some XC races and marathon 6-24 hours races thrown in.
*Not as common (bling factor)
*Cheaper ($500 bucks!)
*Looks better in my opinion
*Not able to test ride
*Able to test ride (loved it)
*Close LBS with support for any warranty claims
*Proven Maestro Technology (just ask Adam Craig!)
Any comments on both would be very welcome, thanks!
