    2017 Trailfox 02 creak

Hi all. I'm new to the BMC family. I'm not however new to creaky bikes unfortunately.

Press fit bottom brackets are the bane of my existence.

This bike was a demo before I took possession of it a month ago. It had a slight creak under torque right off the bat.

I had my local shop take a look at it mostly because I don't have the tools to properly remove a PFBB and also because they are a BMC dealer. After pulling it apart they declared the BB as good to go and they couldn't get it to creak. First ride out, and it creaks.

I'm very experienced in bicycle mechanics and tracking down annoying creaks but I just can't find this one.

So my question for you folks is this...is there a known creaking entity on these bikes? Somewhere I haven't checked that is obvious to BMC owners?

My Speedfox creaked in the rear suspension pivots, rear throughaxle, and headset/stem/steertube. All were easily fixed by cleaning, greasing, and reassembling at the proper torque. Have not had any issues with them since the initial shakedown period.

I have replaced the PF BB in mine to go with a 30mm spindle and had zero issues with it so far. The tolerances of the bb shell seemed spot on.

Thanks. I'll hit the pivots and the headset. I already did the thru axle.

My sons TF02 was creaking horribly and finally traced it to the fizik seat.

    Thanks for replying.

I was just going to follow up. I found it today. It was the chain ring bolts on the X01 crankset. Crazy.
