After getting a partial clean bill of health from the cardio guy the next obvious step was the night ride with DD and Jay which I had been looking forward to all week. At 7pm we met at Monagas entrance and DD was nice enough to lend me an extra helmet light he had(thanks buddy). All I gotta say is WOW! This was my first night ride and it rocked. It was a clear night, cool breeze, no mosquitoes and, of course, pitch black. We rode the "Boy scouts" and "Las tablas" trails, which I've rode before but at night is a totally different experience. Mrs. Punisher doesnt feel comfortable enough with her skills to try it but I'm gonna convince her to try it.

Jay consuming one of five allowed falls per ride. He twisted a finger on a previous fall and Dirt twisted an ankle

A nail bit Jay's back tire. Our resident bike mechanic fixed him up in a jiffy.

It was a GREAT night. If you've never done a night ride I highly recommend it. Tomorrow we'll be going to Dorado(of course) and sunday to Monagas for the race. Busy weekend ahead .

Re: Night ride
Fun we had indeed! I've heard about trails you know being totally different at night, but this is somthing you have to experience to fully appreciate. Highly recommended.

Re: Night ride
Looks like you guys had fun!

Night riding rules. Even old trails are new again in the dark.
