Very nice. I 'prolly would never even know that place exists, and they touch on a really sore point.....the tendency of agencies and groups to STILL want to lump leg-muscle driven bicycles in with 'motorized recreation'. Even now, when everybody knows without a doubt that bicycles, driven by our relatively puny legs and riding on tacky rubber tires, do way less in the way of on-trail impact than any riding animal, and far less in the way of off-trail impact than ANY user group, as we tend to simply focus on staying on the trail. No forays off-trail through rare meadow flowers for us.

Sorry for my mini-rant, but I'm stuck inside today with this inner ear thing totally crapping up my sense of balance, and, well, I'm cranky.....

I hear ya, Ray. Hopefully this area stays the way it is. Although, i for one would be in favor of less grazing.

It's also good to know that the Wood River Bicycle Coalition and IMBA are working with the ICL, and other user groups, on the issue. I just hope they take a stand and aren't forced to concede too much.

good right up. I feel you have to much belief in the ICL. They don't like bikes.

Thanks, Tim, but heck no, I have no faith in them. None. Which sucks because I hate throwing a guilty-until-proven-innocent judgement on anyone.

Like I said in the post, I think they are trying to entrench the regulations of a Wilderness to this area, just under a different name. Scary, cause this could happen because of the designation/management-plan process of a National Monument.

I hear ya, just leave that bad ass place alone. some people don't understand we need a place to go test ourselves and see what we are made of. The white clouds are a place you can do that.
