Rear rack to carbon hardtail MTB?

Has anyone done this? Rack would be mounted to aluminium seatpost and on the read axle. Could there be any damage for the frame? Any rack suggestions?

I haven't used it, but I'd check out the new Arkel Randonneur Rack. It mounts to the seatpost and saddle rails. And, that way you would wouldn't have to mess with axle/brake/suspension compatibility.

I think it is only rated to 25ish lbs though.

Seems like you'd be fine. Most of the weight will be on the rear axle and seatpost clamp--which are areas that are already designed to be very strong.
