Ogre or Fargo Fork for my Karate Monkey

I'd like to replace the fork on my '11 Karate Monkey with a new fork that has braze-ons. The stock fork is OK, but the only attachment points it has are for fenders. Both the Ogre and Fargo forks have a good complement of braze-ons for racks, cages, etc. They appear about equivalent as far as that goes. The Fargo fork has stainless dropouts, which sounds good. The Fargo fork is also somewhat lighter; 1.158 kg vs 1.4 kg. With its lighter weight, I imagine the Fargo fork has more flex to it. Ogre fork has canti studs. Same axle to crown dimension. 2mm difference in rake.

    Thanks for any pointers.

I have a surplus fargo fork. I cut it down a bit. Let me know if you are interested and I can measure it for you.

Fargo fork is good stuff. Very compliant and well designed. The Ogre fork is ok but quite a bit more "dead" then the Salsa, or the KM, fork.

I actually just picked up a '13 KM and am debating swaping the stock fork for a Fargo because I like them so much.

The other option is to have a few bottle bosses added to your fork if there are any framebuilders in your area.

big_papa_nuts - Yeah, that's exactly the sort of feedback I was hoping for, and confirms what I expected given the lighter weight of the Fargo fork. Enjoy your new KM.

Jstews - I wish I had a local frame builder.

You could find a good welder and have him mod your current fork. I have braised stuff on my frames a few times with good results.
