cr-mo Frame for backpacking, cross country and travel?

    Hello guys!
Here in Russia we don't have any good information about cr-mo frames. So I looking forward for a steel mtb hardtail frame 26" for a flat bar with disk brakes fixing.
I want to use it for
    - marathons cross country rides
    - loading outback rides for 2-3 weeks
    - bikepacking
So it also must have a real fixxings for trunk.

Please, be so kind, suggest something to me. I have about 900$ for this shopping.

There are a few people in Russia that make Titanium bikes for relatively cheap, check them out.
    For example: Triton
Or, if you want a 26" steel bike for some serious bikepacking/touring/adventuring, hard to beat the Surly Troll: Troll | Bikes | Surly Bikes
Not sure the cost of the complete, but the frame is definitely sub $900.

Yes, we have a triton and rapid and other titanium frames handbuilts, but have an older cheap titanium frame for winter and town rides. Surly troll a littke bit heavy and I want smth more excleusive may be salsa, but they don't have any mtb 26 frames for a flat bar.

I have owned a half dozen steel / cr-mo frame bikes. They are "o.k." I don't find Any difference in ride quality versus Aluminum especially with modern hydro forming. It is primarily the frame design, butting , etc. and not which metal/steel it is made from (black, alum,ti)

Have a look at Raleigh, they have steel and alum. frames and should be available in Russia I believe.

Sounds like you've got the resources to do your own searching. Surly also makes the Long Haul Trucker with 26" wheels, or at least used to.

    maybe your seeing something different?
I looked prior to posting reply, link to help you. Raleigh has a 26" steel hard tail. It is their series Base model. Use as is or modify to suit your preference (ex fork, saddle, gears, bars)

it appears you have accessible search as well

    good luck, enjoy the outdoors

The On-One Inbred is a pretty good strong and cheap option (and shipping is also cheap)
