New question here. Bashguard for triple chainset

    Hi all

I am touring on a 26" foldable bike (Montague swissbike) customized with Shimano XT.

Only problem is when I fold it, the chainset is directly exposed and can get some serious damage.

I am looking for a simple bashguard to protect it, and I want to keep the 3 speeds. I know nothing about bashguards and I am wondering which one would suit a Shimano XT 780 10 speed triple chainset... ?

Not necessarily a "bash guard" since I don't think it can sustain alot of impact, but some of the "touring" model Shimano triple cranksets come with a plastic outer ring that I think is probably aimed more at protecting your pant leg from the chainring teeth, but may work for your purpose as well.

Otherwise, I think the Salsa Toothfairy goes up to 44T and is more burly.
    Enjoy the ride!

Thank you guys for the replies. It's definitly what I need.
And yes, I had a LX chainset before with a plastic ring integrated with it. It was strong enough to protect the teeth when I carried the bike folded in its bag.

I'm certain that I have a plastic one, just not sure if it's for 44 or 48 teeth. You're welcome to it for the price of shipping, if you'd like.
    Enjoy the ride!

    Oh that's very nice
But I'm living in Australia and I think most of you guys are leaving in USA right ?
It's a long trip for a piece of plastic and a lot of hassle for you to ship it here. I have 6 months to find one around here, I should be fine
