Went back to the lake we hit last year for two nights this time. Only thing that went haywire was my BA air pad getting a slow leak that forced me to wake up chilled after 6-8 hours in the hammock and blow more air into it so I could snooze into the morning with the rest of the crew.... did I mention I couldn't manage to stay awake in the afternoons either? It's been decided I have Camping Narcolepsy, lol. Everyone had a good time and the kid rode a whole lot more sketchy stuff on the TAB than last year.
At the last minute I decided to put a spare Revelate Mountain Feed Bag on her trail-a-bike handlebar instead of mine and let HER decide what to put in there, which turned out to be a brilliant maneuver. It ended up carrying shot blocks, a piece of cord she found beside the trail, and a cool piece of obsidian. And lots of happy chirping about HER SPECIAL BAG to put the treasures in.
Husby had the easier load with the Bob trailer, which is good since his ankle is still recovering from a bad sprain about a month ago. Really liking the Revelate Tangle bag for carrying ~70oz of water on the frame instead of his back.
Hoping to set out on another longer family bikepacking adventure here in a few days.
