Across Kings Canyon Sequoia to 395?

Planning an extended PNW mixed terrain tour later this year... Possibly some seriously epic potentially stupid mountain crossings. According to some maps there are some fire roads that carry on after 180 ends in the park. Does anyone have any experience with this. Is it legal or even passable by bike (MTB)?

    Thanks.

I'v'e hiked in there a bunch (and was a fire lookout in the early 90s) and once the road ends it's all trails--trails on which bikes are not allowed. That said, there are lots and lots of roads on USFS land that are open to bikes.

Within National Park boundaries you are not going to be able to cross the Sierra Crest on or with a bike legally.

The parks are surrounded by National Forest designated wilderness. Also here bikes can't go.

Between Sherman Pass in the south and Tioga Pass in Yosemite there's nothing.

I think you have to go north. Way north. There are some good trails around Lake Tahoe, but Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon are off limits, sadly.
