Which XC/AM bike to for less than 4000$?

    Hi there,
as I consider to buy a new FS bike for XC/AM I need some advice. Currently I am considering a bike from Canyon (German company), which has the following equipment

Frame New Fact8 ES, 7005 Series Aluminium, Opti-Size Tubeset
    RockShox Pearl 3.3
    FOX Talas RLC 100-140
    SRAM X.0 / X.9 /X.0 Matchmaker
    Avid Juicy Carbon 203/185
    DT Swiss N'duro Special Edition
    Shimano Deore XT/XTR
    Sand Blasted Anodized Black

Details to be found at (unfortunately in German)

At the current Euro/Doller ratio it would be around $4000.

Any suggestions for an alternative bike? I also considered the Stumpjumper, but have the feeling that the Canyon is better value for money

    I am 5ft9in, weight is 220lb

    Thanks a lot

    Nice bike

but these days they all are, the bad ones have disappeared.

Here's the link in English, hard to see but it's on the URL you inserted:

IMHO a Stumpy is better value (an FSR Comp is ~ 1/2 the price at $2200 USD), but it depends on where you buy and how you want to use the bike, and you didn't mention those items.
