New question here. what XC frame for 2 MTB "quiver?"

What's better for XC race as a 2nd bike:

for the HT, I'm considering a 2# carbon frame $1700, for XC (and CX)
    for the XC FS, I'm considering a 4.8# S.C. TPc frame $2700

Already have a 7" FS bike.

Get a 29er HT. It's gonna be a way different bike than your 7" squishy, and since you only have room for 2 bikes, you don't want overlap. They should be totally different to justify having them both on hand. Spend the extra money on nice wheels.
    no chain no gain.

The FS is going to be much more versatile, doubling as a trail bike. Tallboy is a good choice, but don't forget there are others like the Turner CZAR.

I have too much inventory of 26wheel parts and not enough cash to spend on other wheels that I am not curios about.

Anyhow, I bought a complete Blur TPc bike, so I'll locate a bike frame wielder to repair the ancient steel HT for SS XC racing.

And save cash for a V10.5 or another dedicated DH race frame.
