What else can I get that would be better for XC than this for $1200. I'm 5'9" and 190 lbs. I'm not an amateur but no where close to racer material either. I need to make a quick decision.

2002 Kona King Kikapu full suspension cross country bike.
Polished/Brushed Aluminum Finish. Not a scratch on the frame.

Features:
-17" Easton Ultra Lite Frame
-Mars Manitou front fork w/lockout
-Fox Float RC rear shock w/reboud adj.
-Race Face Carbon Fiber Cranks
-XT bottom bracket
-XT front derailleur
-XTR rear derailleur
-XT shift and brake levers
-Thomson Elite seatpost
-Race Face Prodigy Stem
-Race Face headset
-Bontrager Race 5 deg. handlebar
-Pauls Quick Release brakes
-Rolf Satellite wheels (disk brake ready hubs)
-Cateye CC-FR7CC computer
-Eggbeater pedals (new)
-Shock pump inlcuded
-Bottom bracket wrench included

Bike has less than 100 miles on it, never raced, just causal trail riding.

Weighs less than 23 pounds without pedals

I know what I would do

I would offer the seller with the Kikapu $1000 and see what happens. That bike is worth $1200 all day but used bikes just don't bring much resale regardless of condition.
