    Upgrading front fork

I have a trek 820 and I would like to upgrade the front fork. What specs should I measure or other info do I need to know when Im shopping for forks? What does the threaded/unthreaded option mean? Thanks BF

    There's no app for this.

    Probably can't upgrade...

the 820 comes w/63mm sidewalk & trail fork. MTB forks start at 80mm, and a good one would cost more than your whole bike did. Nobody makes a quality 63mm fork that I'm aware of, as I say, they all start at 80mm.

Not what you wanted to hear, but there you go.

Other stuff you asked: the bike has a threadless headset, and to get a new fork you must match, or darn near match, the travel of 63mm, and also the Axle to Crown distance must be extremely close to maintain the bike's geometry and riding characteristics.
