UMF Hardy Steel #TEAM or NS Holy 1 bike for street and dirt?
My name is Nikita and I’m from Moscow - dirty and corrupted country, and this summer my parents bought house in Spain and I would like to buy new buy to leave it in Spain, and have fun in there.
So I will be able to join riding here in Moscow when I will live here, and other days when i will be in Spain I’ll join another bike.
I'm riding only 1.5 year, now on UMF Hardy #Team 2009 (.PDF), just learning street, dirt skills and tricks.
Really hard, and I think I’ll need 4-5 years of learning to ride more professional. But anyway, i have free time and almost every day learning.
And I would like to buy another UMF bike, but this time: Steel #Team http://www.umf-bikes.com/public/ftp/...ySteelTeam.pdf, it's Cr-Mo frame bike, very light (13,7 kg), nice fork and other components like brakes, rims, and I like how it looks, soooo cute
And I made post on our Russian forum, and explain the situation, but almost everyone said that it's suck bike, but when I ask why, no one was able to explain, i think they just don't like UMF... anyway, they recommended me NS Holy 1, but I’m not sure that it will be a right choice.
So I register on this forum, thanks parents, that I know English on this level so i can talk with you, and i would like to ask you any advice, and could you please say me, what you think about UMF Steel Team, is it a good bike for street and dirt?
ps: my bike gallery, sorry it's on rus: http://forum.velomania.ru/showthread.php?t=41302

Are these the only dirt/street bikes available in Moscow? If there are other choices maybe some dirt riders here can help you choose between them.I am telling this because I guess no one replies to this message because they haven't ridden the two bikes you mention.
Ride safe and responsibly .
Thank you for your reply.
Yea, in Moscow unfortunately we don't have any choice, prices for bikes - double high, if the price in Europe ~1000 Euro for bike, and maybe I can find this money to buy one, then there in Moscow it will be minimum 1500+ Euro
Because I like BlackMarket 2010 new bike, their frames, components, how they look, but as I said, here will be 1500-2000 for Soldier and Malice.
And this shop who selling UMF and Merida bikes, keep normal price + Iím friend of person who works in there, and he can offer me addition discount, so UMF Hardy Steel #Team will be for ~750 Euro for me.
And NS bikes, (Holy 1), costs 625 Euro here in Moscow, and I think if choose between this 2 bikes for 625 and 750 Euro, and compare it's components and level, I think EUM will be right choice.
I got another way - buy bike in Spain, but Iím not sure that Iíll find something in there, we live in Althea Hills, and it's far away from Barcelona and Madrid, and Iím not sure that around Althea, I will find something
Still worry about buying a bike, and need advice
I really don't know anything that could help. But I think there are only small differences between that two bikes.
You have posted this message a week ago. When new messages are posted from other people the older ones are moved down. And yours is moved too down and no one will see it.
I suggest you write again this message(post) at the forum so that more people can see it.If no one answers you after 1-2 days don't worry, just choose the bike you think is better and I believe it will be great.
DrKilroy, купи то, что тебе нравится. Лучше больше катайся. А там поймешь, что тебе действительно нужно.
MTBR forums are more XC/AM oriented. You will not hear much advisery on a street/dirt bike here. I would go for Pinkbike or smth more streety
