    Sorry, what? I'm assuming you have at least some empirical evidence to back that little statement up. Which masses are you talking about?

    The Y-bike was a bike for it's time, (un)fortunately it's time has long since past.

    I've got to agree with some posters here, in that spending money on a Trek Y-11 is just not money well spent.

    I can see feeling sentimental towards the thing if you've had it for some time, but actually throwing money at it just doesn't seem like a good idea...at least to me.

    What of the newer forks out would work/ fit a 98 Y? For Am/ lite DH stuff?

    I had the same question this morning. I went to Flickr: The TREK Y FRAME MOUNTAIN BIKES Pool and found pics of a few riders' solutions. Might help.
