    Threadless headset and Integrated headset?

Okay, I currently have a 03 GT Avalanche, I installed a FSA DH Pig pro threadless headset, I found a deal on a 04 Avalanche frame (thicker downtube, size large (i'm 6'0 and current frame is a SMALL, no vbrake rear bosses, cheap) so I bought it, stripped it and currently in primer phase. And I just noticed that the new frame is for a integrated headset, is there a way to use my current one or will I need to buy a brand new integrated headset?

    Thanks

Yes, you will need a new integrated headset.

I believe the GT uses a Zero Stack or "Semi-Integrated"...this is different than a full integrated.

If mtbiker72 is correct and it is a zero stack, i don't think it will, but I'm not totally positive of that. you'll need to look for specifically a zero stack headset. I found an aheadset zero stack on amazon for 25ish including shipping.

    So then this will?
    http://www.amazon.com/Aheadset-Zero-...1203674&sr=8-1

I'm probably going to take it to my LBS and see what exactly one so I don't order the wrong one and have to send it back.

according to this link: http://velospec.com/bikes/gt/avalanche10disc-2004 it does use a zero stack and I'd get a zero stack for it. That was the exact one I found on amazon. I'm starting to build a hardtail frame myself that requires a zero stack and will get that one as well. good luck!

You're correct, sir. I can get confused with zero/integrated/internal/standard blah, blah, blah....I'm even more confused now after reading why Chris King doesn't make anything but standard headsets....or does he?

Got it at my lbs (mad cat sacramento ftw) for $26 after tax its boxed as giant but made by fsa (tagged on it) so now hopefully I can get started on making some progress now that paint is done.
    Thanks to everyone who replied.
