Thinking of getting a new fork

I am looking at getting a new fork, and I found this deal:

    http://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...Frk+08+Oe.aspx

My current steerer length is 8.25" and this new one works out to about 7.3", my question is can I use it?

I have 3/4" of spacers on the current setup. If my math is correct, this means that I could use no spacers and need 7.5" steer tube.

If i go with this fork, what would the steering act like duw to being shorter?

For the record, I have a 2005 GT Avalanche 2.0. Thanks in advance.

It's cut too short. Won't work dude.
Look, whatever happens, don't fight the mountain.

Yeah i don't think it will work. The steerer would have to be longer then 7.5" to work I think.
