    Specialized rockhopper or prodigy giant

Hello, an acquaintance is willing to sell me a specialized rockhopper or prodigy giant for the same price of 150. I have absolutely no clue as to which is better. Can someone enlighten me? I have no experience with mountain bikes.

Both pics are of the Giant, so I dunno which Rockhopper model he's offering. 150 seems a bit steep for something as old as that Giant. I wouldn't offer more than $75 for the one pictured.

Hi here are the rockhopper pics, I have a gut feeling 150 is a bad price.

Right on. Either way you're gonna have to throw parts at them to make decent bikes. They need everything; cranksets, pedals, cables, shifters, brakes, seats, stems, wheels and derailleurs.tires and grips...Frames are serviceable tho. I'd certainly build them up with keeping rigid as the goal. My $75 Trek xame home from the pawn shop lookin pretty much like the Giant. $400 later at my LBS, it came out like this
