New question here. SJ FSR Evo Carbon 29er, Frame poor painting job, or quite normal?!

    Hi @all,

I attached one picture of my bike. You can see that after a maintaining job on my bike and after the chain touched the frame the colour has been partially chipped away.
Is that normal?! The painting seems to be very thin.
Does anybody have similar experiences with the painting of his Specialized Bike?!
I thought it is a Mountainbike and therefore the painting needs to be more solid...?

Paint chips on a mountain bike is 100% normal.

If that picture is of the chainstay, they do make wrap-around protectors for it. It'll cover that abhorrent blemish up, too.
www.seanhannity.com <=not what you think it is.

Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering how thin this painting must be. I own a Trek custom road bike. It is 6 Years old with Project One custom painting and no paint chips. The painting must be thicker and more professional than the painting of my Specialized mountain bike. This is unexpected because I thought the painting for a mountain bike has to be more resistant against external influences, right?!
I still remember there was a discussion about Specialized bad painting a few years ago. But seems to be solved
