    Rebuild suggestions

Ok, I have a 2002 Raleigh M40 with a blown front fork. I want to fix it up for a loaner/commuter. Is there a better option than this fork? (Rigid is no go) The bike had a 63mm fork so 80mm shouldn't throw it off too much am I correct?

    Dart 2 80mm:

Also, I am assuming that a really basic headset will be fine for this setup as well? The bike is threaded by nature, so that will have to be replaced as well. Thanks!

Dart 2 has no compression damper just rebound but I guess that is an improvement on what you got now.

You'll need a new headset, spacers (30-40mm worth), and new stem, here are some cheap but reliable options

Thank you! The bikepedia entry has it listed as a 1 1/8 headset so I'm assuming that is the headtube size. Are there any other things I should consider replacing during this? The gears aren't in great shape, but very passable for commuter/loaner.
