hey im new to mtb riding and i am going to buy a full suspension bike soon. im not guna spend more than 2k on a bike. ive been reading really good stuff on the 2009 specialized stumpjumper comp. but ill be getting the 2010. Anyways im guna be riding basically AM and SINGLE TRACK. little 2-4 foot drops, rocks, roots. I wanna know if that bike is good enough for that kinda riding ? thank you. im 5 ' 6 and about 160 if that matters. thank you

I think the stumpy comp is a great bike.....but for me I would have to say check out a Giant Trance X3 or X2. But these are more geared towards XC end of the spectrum.

Someone with more trail time on the Trance X will have to chime in to say if it can handle the 4' drops.....but it should handle whatever the Stumpy comp would.

If the 5" wont suffice, you will probably have to step up to a true AM ride, like the Pitch or Reign X.
