    New Bike Shopping

    Hello All,

I have been riding a Gary Fisher X-Caliber for the past 5.5 years. My frame just broke, I never registered it, and the shop went out of business a couple years ago. So, no frame replacement Good news is, I am now shopping for a new bike! I live in SW Virginia and am looking for some advice on bike recommendations. I loved my 29er and am seriously considering another big-wheeled bike. I am also trying to pay around $1,500-$2,300. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!

What about buying a really nice frame with that money and then just swapping over all the parts? Or spend roughly half on a frame and half on new wheels (or another part(s)) and swap over the rest of the parts.

I've thought about that, but it seemed like a good opportunity to get all new components. What would you recommend for frame/wheel combo?

My recommendations wouldn't do much good haha I'm a 26" wheel guy at heart (although I want to get a big rim ride) and I'm also partial to rigid single speed But from what I have seen I reallllly like Niner's

I would honestly buy a new frame and swap over the parts, though that Jamis Dragon is SEXY!!
